Booming thermals and cloud base to 5,000ft ensured that everyone got a great trip with over 12 hours of flying. A cracking day out.

Starting largely fine with a few sunny spells and brighter by the afternoon although with a chance of a passing shower.

With a good weather forecast we were in for an enjoyable day and so it proved.

A bright but cold start to the day. Sunny skies with broken cloud in the morning but becoming cloudier during the afternoon. Conditions for a Silver distance task look excellent.

Whilst the forecast had predicted overcast conditions and a stiff breeze, in the absence of a cross-section no mention at all of low level turbulence. After only 10 launches, flying ceased at 1430.

A cloudy start, brightening up later in the day and with the risk of an isolated shower.
