Forecast for Sat 21 May 22

A Low anchored off Iceland will result in moderate WSW winds all day.  Overcast, some sunny spells with max temp c16°C and cloud base to 4,000ft in the afternoon.  Good conditions for soaring, particularly in the afternoon.

If available, an on-the-day X-Section that provides a more up-to-date guide will be published on the closed Messenger Ops Gp tomorrow morning.

Sunset is at 21:10.  General forecast from XCWeather https://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/Shawbury

The Star Rating provides an indication of the quality of the soaring on the day. Anything over 0 is thermally active, and 3 Stars and above suggests good conditions for local soaring.

Given the upper wind strength and direction we may see Wave set up over the area.

Conditions for a 50km cross-country task look promising.
