A brilliant soaring day in which everyone enjoyed a good trip. Booming thermals to 4,500ft were interspersed with snow showers.

Good soaring is predicted with favourable conditions for those looking to fly X-country.

Our first exped in 3 years took us to Lleweni Parc. These images capture some of the fantastic flying we enjoyed.

Thursday was the better day with conditions allowing some great trips into mid-Wales.

Two days on whicch the weather has been frustrating, no flying Monday and limited flying Tuesday.

A cracking start to our Spring Exped at Llwenni Parc

Despite the strong wind and a lot of turbulence everyone got away for a decent trip on a day that saw some strong thermic activity.

A breezy day with sunshine and cloud. Winds SSW swinging through S to SSE by the end of the day, 10-15kts gusting to 25kts. Remaining relatively mild with minimum temperature c9°C.

A thoroughly enjoyable day in the best conditions that we have had this year. Twenty two launches for a total flying time of 11hrs 35mins speaks-for-itself.

Sunshine in the morning with cloud increasing later in the day. Feeling rather chilly in a mainly N wind with max temp c8°C but in the wind it will feel more like 4°C

With a full flying list and a number of visitors, much to everyone’s relief and at long last, the weather played ball with both thermic activity and also wave for those who flew later in the day

Breezy and cloudy with sunny spells. Moderate S wind that increases in strength during the day with gusts to 30kts in the late afternoon

After a break of two years, planning is complete for our first post-Covid Spring Expedition and this year we are look forward to flying again at Lleweni Parc where our hosts will be Denbigh Gliding.

With the X-Section giving early warning of high winds in the late afternoon courtesy of Storm Corrie, it was a busy day as we squeezed all our pre-solo pilots into a shortened flying window.
