With a very full flying list we were thankful for cake, and plenty of the latter kindly provided by Sophie.

A cracking day out that defied the X-Section. The strong winds died down, the cloud cover broke up and, although it was cold, the sun shone; it did wonders for morale.

A slow moving occluded front will pass through. In the initially strong W wind the wind chill factor will make it feel like 1-2°C.

Maximising flying time in between forecast heavy showers was always going to be a challenge but we did make the most of what day there was to enjoy.

No flying - the weather intervened with black ice on paved surfaces, low ground mist, no wind and a hint of snow in the air – precisely as forecast!

In the light NE wind any early morning mist and freezing fog may be slow to clear leaving some sunshine. Cold so wrap up warm!

With compressed winter days and a full flying list we enjoyed a busy day at Shawbury, squeezing in over 5h 30m flying time .

Rain stopped play with the last launch at 12:50 but not before we had achieved a number of objectives for the day.
