CLUB AUTUMN EXPED DENBIGH – SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
Whilst the bulk of members departed Shawbury for Denbigh on Sunday, it was the early birds who looked at the forecast and left early who then made the most of conditions on Saturday.
For those not familiar with the area, or who haven’t flown at Denbigh, it is a fantastic location to fly in Snowdonia, get into mountain wave in the prevailing Westerly winds or fly the 30km long Clwydian Range that runs from Llandegla in the south to Prestatyn in the north.
In good thermic conditions with climbs to 4,000ft Alan Swan in his DG400 headed for Snowdonia and the Conwy Valley
Meanwhile Geoff M enjoyed a 2 hour trip in 243 having dropped off on to the Clwydian Range.
A good first day and you can keep up with progress on either the Flightradar24 app or at Glide and Seek.
With poor conditions on Sunday the team eventually made for their favourite curry house and the suspected source of our Covid plagued Spring Exped. Let’s hope no one is sharing a two seater this morning!
