Flying Report Sun 19 Nov 23

A good turnout but, sadly, a disappointing day.

Given the forecast the intention was to get all our young aviators at least one launch each but high winds stopped play after just one launch, the duty auth and CFI deciding that there simply was no training value in the choppy turbulent conditions and with rotor over the airfield.

So it was back to H4 to finish the annual on R22 and the installation of the S80,  a standalone digital variometer, final glide calculator and nav system with moving map display, and with which the whole fleet is now equipped.   Err, the user manual is only 127 pages so a good bedtime read then!!

Many thanks to all those who stayed behind to assist with the R22 annual and particularly to Colin who took over from Nick as the lead.  Nick was clearly feeling gassy and nauseous after eating something that didn’t agree with him – get well soon Nick!

Disappointing day but such is gliding and let’s hope for better conditions next w’end.
