2024 RAF COSFORD AIR SHOW

It’s always a privilege to be invited to display and many thanks to the team that supported the club contribution to the 2024 RAF Cosford Air Show.  The weather was not brilliant with a relatively low cloud base, a good breeze and rain always around.

Great work by the launch team Shawbury who, whilst waiting to launch, also got time to watch some of the other activity in support of the air show.

En-route to RAF Cosford it was clear that rain showers were around.

On the ground at RAF Cosford we supported the BGA glider simulator that always seems to be an attraction, particularly for our younger visitors. Thanks to some of our our MEF students, Jack, Amelia and others for helping out.

Having been towed over by Nick in WG, then holding just north of the airfield, Ian gave his usual Immaculate display, albeit in light rain, before being hooked up by Alun and then returning to Shawbury.

Releasing at 3,000ft over the airfield, Ian flew a slightly modified display that took account of the additional drag caused by the rain. Here’s some of Darcey’s pics of Dad’s display.

Many thanks too, to our on-site outside broadcast team for some stunning video of the display and running commentary.  All highly professional!!!!

Thanks to everyone for your help and see you next year.
