Friday 2nd April 2021 Flying Day
Our first soarable day at RAF Shawbury and after a thorough briefing from Norm Potts we were all too ready to enjoy the day. It had been a long time since we enjoyed good soaring conditions, conditions that only improved as the day went on. The aim was to give everyone at least two trips; 13 launches and a total flying time of over 15.5 hours speak volumes for the conditions.
Hog of the day at 2:20 went to CFI Ian Gallacher in his ASW20.
With +6 kts seen at times, almost all reached cloud base at around 3,500.
FOD of the day went to whoever let go of the Wolves balloons that landed on r’way 35.
