Flying Report Christmas Eve 2023
With the wind out of limits, a low cloud base and light rain always around it was yet another non-flying day. Nonetheless, and remembering that the journey is just as important as the destination there was, as always, a silver lining. So it’s thanks to those who were able to dodge peeling the sprouts, etc and who turned up for some essential admin.
At one end of H4 some essential MT checks took place whilst at the other end the annual for R66 was completed. The team challenged themselves to polish all surfaces of R66 and a very fine job was done indeed. As an aside, and whilst all this vigorous buffing activity was going on, we learned that The Vicar is still unemployed so if you’ve got any Sits Vac in your local house of worship please WhatsApp him – he’s cheap. The other piece of information that stunned us all is that Jack had calculated that he only needed to spend another £60 this year to bring his annual spend for 2023 in Maccy D’s to £1,000. Likes a couple of Double Quarter Pounder™ with Cheese each time does our Jack!
With the glide ratio of the Concrete Swan significantly improved, finally we rigged R66 and it is ready to be flown on Boxing Day!
To try to make up for the recent string of weather affected flying days we have added Boxing Day to the calendar. Please book on if you can attend and we look forward to seeing you.
