Flying Report Sun 30 Oct 22

With the clock change it was to be a shortened day but busy with a full flying list and a number of new members.  It was also a day of two halves as a cold front moved thought the area at lunchtime.  The morning saw heavy, rain laden cloud, whilst the afternoon saw bright sunshine but common to both was strong turbulence and rotor.

New members Connor, Dylan and Jacob joined us from Cosford, all flying with us for the first time. IN the time available we managed to squeeze in 3 flights for each during the day. We offer funding to support our military students and there is also funding that can be applied through the BGA Launchpoint – Charitable Trust, the details of which can be found at https://members.gliding.co.uk/launchpoint/ .  It is a super way to get into flying and to start your gliding journey.

The day ended with another system approaching Shawbury but not before the Dad and

Son combo of Jack and Colin Haynes had taken to the air.

Despite the short day and interruptions for rain we still managed nearly 6 hours of flying time - a good effort by all.
