Flying Saturday 24 April 2021

In our planned return to flying programme this was our first day of 2 seater training and the weather smiled upon us.  We were joined at the morning brief by a number of new faces, many in response to our Familiarisation Evening held on 13 April, and it was great to welcome them all.

So whilst it was a first flight for some, two seat training allowed others to begin to catch up with their individual training programmes.  Needless to say instructors were kept fully occupied and the launch point was a hive of activity.

For some of our RAF Shawbury visitors it was their first sight of the airfield from the air.

Some booming thermals over the airfield were enjoyed on every trip with 22 launches for a total flying time of 12 hours and 23 mins.

With a spell of good weather forecast everyone is now looking forward to the May Bank Holiday weekend with flying days scheduled for Saturday 1st and Monday 3rd May. Join us if you can.

Finally congratulation to Will Dean on passing his Field Landing Checks.  He has already planned his 50km for next weekend but is not telling anyone the destination!
