Flying Report Sun 26 Nov 23

The weather conspired to defeat us yet again with just 3 launches completed before fine rain brought an end to proceedings.  A great shame as we had planned a busy day.

Simon Adlard had come along to do a progress check on the Vicar’s Ass Cat training but managed just one launch before they repaired to the bus where Simon was clearly impressed with the Vicar’s model aeroplane making skills and also his specially produced spiral bound copy of the BGA instructor’s reference cards that he keeps in his back pocket.

Lastly, we managed to get a couple of trips in for George who is very nearly at solo stage.  Let’s hope that we can achieve that in the next 3 weeks before George departs.

With low cloud and rain we repaired to the bus for lemon drizzle cake kindly provided by #betterhalf#vulcanisedbomber. Perfect!

As we waited local lad George suggested that in place of launching we could, instead, get high on some of the airfield’s magic mushrooms, such an excellent idea with which we all agreed with. It goes someway to explaining the behaviour of the local hare’s.  Knows a thing or two does George.

At 1100 we called it a day and took everything back to H4 where, and despite the absence of the now ex-Dear Leader Kim Al Swan, the most fantastic hangar stacking plan was contrived.  It was so good that John Luke made it a headline on his Socials.

Finally, a warm welcome to new member Matthew Cook.  Matthew is also a Full Cat at The Mynd but we haven’t let on yet that that a Myndie Full Cat equates to a BI+ at RSGC🤣

We’ve asked the Vicar if he knows of anyone who can end this run of bad weather - bit of a wing and a prayed we know!.
