Flying Report Monday 31 May 21

Hot and sunny, blue skies everywhere with thermic activity towards the end of the day.  Everyone enjoyed a great flying day, one on which instructors were kept busy from start to finish following the morning brief out on r’way 18.

It was a day of some great “firsts”

It was the first occasion on which we had taken the K18 out on to the airfield since the move to RAF Shawbury.

It was the first occasion on which Will Dean had taken a BI trip.  It rather made up for the lack of opportunity to fly his 50k today.

It was the first occasion that John Luke had flown in a single seater and the K18 was the perfect aircraft to make that first take off…..

…and landing!

Otherwise we made the most of a hot summer’s day on an airfield
