BGA Caroline Trust Special Award for Amelia

It is great to see the progress being made on their gliding journey by our two youngest club members, both female.  And for one, Amelia, it was a special day today as she received a Caroline Trust Special Award at the this year’s BGA Conference awards ceremony. The award recognised Amelia’s passionate and on-going support to the gliding community.

The Caroline awards were established, under the banner ‘Caroline Trust’, by friends and gliding colleagues in memory of Caroline, a keen glider pilot. The Trust aimed to encourage young people, especially women, and people with disabilities to participate in the sport of gliding.  Amelia, seen below at the awards ceremony with Club Chair Alan Swan, joins over 400 young people who, since 2000, have received Caroline Award bursaries.

Many congratulations and well done Amelia.
