A glorious summer’s day 5 Jun 21

A glorious summer’s day saw the whole fleet out to experience some great soaring conditions in which we achieved over 21 hours flying with an average flight time of 1 hr 20 mins.  IF you had been thinking of doing your 50km or 100km cross country and didn’t pitch up you missed a trick - it was that sort of day!

Our presence in the Shawbury skies is clearly generating a lot of interest with visitors to the launch point during the day and more online enquiries.

With cloud base rising to 4,500ft and booming thermals it was perfect weather for both beginners and the more experienced who ranged over Shropshire, Staffordshire and the Welsh borders.

Fantastic viz for R22 and 243, here over Shropshire.

John Luke departs on his first Bronze qualifying soaring flight in R43.

Well done to Richie Wilbore who completed his first solo soaring trip flying the K13

John Luke hooks up EO

Geoff Matthews – a pic of style and sartorial elegance.  Meanwhile Nigel Readman had just realised that the tyres on WG are knackered and needed changing.
