CLUB AUTUMN EXPED DENBIGH – DAY 5, WED 12 OCT 22

Wednesday was a day to enjoy but you had to be up early, in fact very early as with Wave, but rain forecast from about 12:30, it was a crack-of-dawn start….

and by 09:00 and all aircraft had been launched into a Wave bar that had established just to the West of Denbigh.

FCV gets airborne behind the tug at 08:45.

By 09:45, 243 was at 10,000ft and by 11:00 the fleet were back on the ground with enough time to change pilots for a 2nd launch into Wave.  R66 with John Luke was the last aircraft away and joined the rest West of Denbigh.

John Luke in Wave just West of Denbigh.

R66 climbing through 3,750 ft in Wave. The Clwydian Range is visible in the distance.

On the way up with FCV and Ian G passing through 4,000ft

A lovely morning for FCV that reached 10,000ft over the N Wales coast.

Probably the best day that we have enjoyed thus far.
